Tapiwa Gambura created  Redefining The Road  a short film about a Zupco driver, the film is now in the finals of the Discovery Real Time Competition at the Jozi Film Festival 2019.

The film tracks Memory Kadaira, a bus conductor who has redefined the journey as a conductor on the Zupco urban transport system.

In this travel documentary, Tapiwa Gambura explores the life of bus conductor Miriam Kadaira. The social perceptions around Miriam’s choice of work are staggering, as a woman, yet she continues, choosing to travel every day because she loves it. The theme is one of finding joy and adventure wherever you are.

This is a new competition in partnership with Discovery’s Real Time channel! An Africa-wide call for 3-5 minute films on the theme: “Real Stories Told By Real People About Real Lives”.

The winner will receive $2 500, second place $1 000 and third place, $750, and be broadcast on Real Time, alongside all the films shortlisted by a JFF and Discovery jury. The public will vote for the top three via our website and social media pages.
