If you love a good laugh and discovering new talent, clear your calendar for Friday, July 19.

Burg Comedy Club is hosting the New Faces of Comedy Showcase at Hillside Walk, 7 Limerick Road in Bulawayo, and trust me, it’s going to be a night to remember. Ten fresh stand-up comedians from all over Zimbabwe will be hitting the stage, each hoping to win one big thing: a spot on a national comedy tour with none other than Frank Chirisa.

But here’s the fun part, the audience gets to choose the winner. Yep, your laughter and cheers could literally change someone’s comedy career.

Meet the Lineup

From rising stars to bold new voices, the stage will be packed with energy and fearless jokes. Here’s who’s performing:

  • Brendon Mbofana
  • Mekayla
  • Christian Ndlovu
  • Tumi The Ntwana
  • Alex Shumba
  • Tha Slick Bishop
  • Munashe
  • OminiS
  • Sekuru VaBheka (bringing the heat from Masvingo)
  • + One surprise act you don’t want to miss!

And holding it all together with non-stop vibes? Your host for the night, MC Musavadha, the fan-favourite from Masvingo known for his wild energy and quick humour.

Not Just a Show but a Movement

Burg Comedy Club, started by comedian Frank Chirisa and creative partner Brandon Masuku, is about more than just making people laugh. It’s about giving new comedians a platform, encouraging artists to support each other, and creating a real sense of community in Zimbabwe’s comedy scene.

Whether you’re from Bulawayo, Harare, or Masvingo, this show is proof that comedy can bring people together. The performers aren’t just competing, they’re cheering each other on, helping one another grow, and building something bigger than themselves.

  1. The movement really has been bigger than anyone would think. Everything that goes in the background won’t be noticed ofcourse but we hope it’s a fair reflection.
