Highlanders’ Transfer Ban Lifted – A Fresh Start for Bosso!

Highlanders Football Club is back in action with renewed energy after FIFA officially lifted their transfer ban, a development made possible through the intervention of businessman Wicknell Chivayo. This much-needed breakthrough means the club can now register new players and bolster their squad for the season ahead.

The ban had put Bosso in a tough spot, forcing them to start their campaign with a limited squad. Despite this setback, they managed a win and a loss in their first two games.

But now, the tide is turning. In an official statement, the club expressed their excitement:

“The wait is finally over! We are thrilled to announce that the FIFA ban has been lifted, thanks to the dedication of a committed FIFA team in resolving the matter. A special thank you to Sir Wicknell Chivayo for facilitating the payment. With this hurdle behind us, we can now register our new signings, who may be available for our upcoming match against Green Fuel.”

The ban was initially imposed due to an unpaid debt of US$27,000 owed to former coaches Baltemar Brito and Antonio Joao Torres. However, Chivayo stepped in and cleared the amount in full, paving the way for Highlanders to regain their transfer privileges.

New Signings Ready to Boost the Squad

With the green light from FIFA, Bosso can finally complete the registration of several new signings, including:
Marlvern Hativagoni
Never Rauzhi
Tendai Muvuti
Hubert Ncube
Panashe Mushonga
Mbonisi Ncube (formerly with BDF XI in Botswana)

The team had been struggling with a thin squad of just 18 players, often fielding individuals who weren’t at full fitness. One such player was Brighton “MaNinja” Ncube, who defied the odds by scoring a stunning hat-trick last weekend.

Players Rewarded for 4-0 Win – A Boost in Morale

Beyond resolving transfer issues, Highlanders have also demonstrated a renewed commitment to their players’ welfare. Following their dominant 4-0 victory over Kwekwe United, the club promptly paid out winning bonuses and allowances on Monday—an important gesture that will undoubtedly lift spirits in the Bosso camp.

This move comes after a challenging pre-season marred by salary payment delays, which at times saw players skipping training sessions out of frustration. But with things gradually stabilizing, Bosso looks set to regain its focus and build momentum for a stronger campaign.

What’s Next for Highlanders?

With new signings now eligible to play, the team is gearing up for a crucial clash against Green Fuel on Saturday. Fans will be eager to see how these fresh additions impact the squad’s performance.

With financial and operational challenges slowly being addressed, could this be the season Highlanders make a serious title push? Only time will tell—but for now, Bosso is back in business!
