Bulawayo is under a dark cloud mourning the loss of the star to a hit and and run incident late Saturday night.
Cal Vin That Luveve Boy, whose real name was Mgcini Calvin Nhlizioyo is reported to have been watching a football game with his girlfirend and two other friends at the cricket club in Luveve. They were on their way back home when an unidentified white vehicle with no plates hit the star. He was rushed to Mpilo hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The Zkhuphani hit maker will be remembered for standing up for the rights of musicians in Bulawayo, and representing the city nation wide. Cal Vin produced music with passion, from addressing issues of oppression in communities and in the industry. He did not shy away from speaking about issues that affect young people, some of which he went through during his career.
Speaking to people who knew Cal Vin, he was warm, welcoming and ready to assist any upcoming artistes. He did not shy away from any projects, no matter how small they seemed, he was ready to be hands on.
Social media has since been flowing with condelence messages to his family, in awe and disbelief that the star is gone. As he touched many lives, his music will continue to live on.
